Cultural Village for Penang (Part One)

Yesterday when I was having some light discussion with Koay Teng Hai, ADUN for Pulau Tikus and AT Ong, Councillor of MPPP which we touched on potential efforts that can promote tourism in Penang. Korean's Cheonggyecheon's Bridge, Sarawak's Cultural Village, Malacca town and pasar malam caught our interest.

Co-incidently, one of the hotel in Batu Ferringhi was also bringing a discussion to their management meeting for establishing a cultural show on permanent basis. The "Cultural Village" in Batu Feringghi which was closed down some time back was criticised by the CEO.

I have also discussed with YB Teh Yee Cheu, ADUN for Tanjung Bungah for promoting Malaysian's wedding ceremony as one of the tourist attraction. I have recently attended one Malay and one Indian's weddings, found they have the potential to make the real wedding ceremonies as tourist "must visit" place. This have a good potential to get win-win results - for tourist, State Government, cultural performance group and even to the married couple.
